Education & Training

As part of its activities in the neurological laboratory, Neuromobil trains resident physicians in their specialized role in the neurovascular Doppler and duplex laboratory. They learn the full spectrum: from basic skills such as transorbital duplex of the central retinal artery and ONSD (optic nerve sheath diameter) to specialized techniques like intracranial venous imaging.

Neuromobil offers continuing education for neurological and neurosurgical resident physicians to specifically facilitate the assessment of vasospasms after subarachnoid hemorrhages using duplex exploration. We also co-organize interdisciplinary courses, such as the course for emergency and intensive care physicians at Inselspital Bern, which includes the module on intracranial pressure measurement using neurovascular ultrasound.

With Neuromobil, you can learn and deepen the entire spectrum in the neurovascular Doppler and duplex laboratory: from basic skills in handling the 8 MHz pencil probe to more complex diagnostic procedures such as transorbital duplex of the central retinal artery, ONSD, and specialized techniques like intracranial venous imaging. Clinical situations with diagnostic challenges, where the use of a contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) is indicated, are also covered in the training.

For residents preparing for the SFND final exam, Neuromobil organizes weekly short theoretical training sessions, which have consistently resulted in successful exams with good grades. Upon request, Neuromobil also offers individual days for practical and theoretical preparation. Additionally, Neuromobil developed the training manual for the Doppler laboratory internship on behalf of the training commission for the SFND (Swiss Association for Neurophysiological Diagnostics).
